Reinvent Your Wardrobe with a Few Small Pieces!

Vintage mother-of-pearl buttons from VinageSewandSew's store on Etsy. View them here.

Do you want to look more elegant or dashing yet not go broke? Here's a tip you may not have thought of!

Most clothing comes with cheap plastic buttons. Replacing these buttons (think on blazers, suit jackets, coats, blouses & dress shirts) can instantly update your existing wardrobe pieces and make them look more expensive. Depending upon the buttons you choose, it can also give your item of clothing a whole new personality. If you can do it yourself or have a handy friend, replacing buttons isn't too difficult and you'll only be paying for the cost of a few buttons. If you can't do it at home, it isn't an expensive job to get done at the tailor, either.

Rhinestone and freshwater pearl buttons from lacemonster816's store on Etsy.

Amber-gold vintage buttons from treasurebooth's store on Etsy. Check it out here.

Vintage cabochon white buttons also from Etsy.

Check out Windsor Button- a "Boston Tradition Since 1936." Located on 35 Temple Place in the heart of Boston, they have a large and varied inventory to choose from. You can also choose to shop their online store, where buttons are organized by material (think shell, rhinestone, wood, and many more).

Or, check out online marketplace Etsy for vintage & handmade buttons such as the ones pictured above.

Did you know that at 9tailors, you can pick out buttons to match every shirt fabric you choose? Wow, that's cool. How did your wardrobe update project go? Send us pictures!
