Congratulations to Marc and Jen!

You've been following our journey to help Boston Marathon tragedy survivor, Marc Fucarile, and his wife, Jennifer Regan, in their wedding planning for the last few weeks. We met Marc and Jen back in February and designed gorgeous suits for Marc and their son, Gavin. Last night, the couple were married at Fenway Park and celebrated their special day at the elegant, Hotel Commonwealth. While temperatures hovered around 40°, their story of love, courage and endurance warmed our hearts.

Here's a sneak peak of the festivities last night! Congratulations to our beautiful couple!

Also, we wanted to express our gratitude to the incredible Love Runs Through Boston team. Thank you for giving Marc and Jen the most memorable day!

Another Glimpse at a Client's Beautiful Wedding, Featuring our Bride-Groom, Tanya Cashorali

It's a rare occasion when we are granted full access to a client's wedding album rather than a few picked images. When we get to look through all of the pictures, we get to experience their wedding on a different level. Aside from being able to dress them and seeing the traditional group shots of the wedding parties, we get to see the ceremony and reception, the details of the reception and the progression of the night.

One of our lovely, lovely clients has granted us this gracious access, Tanya Cashorali. Please enjoy a glimpse of her matrimonial day with her partner, Stephanie, as much as I did.

Name: Tanya Cashorali

Age:28

Wedding Date: November 2, 2013

Why Choose Custom?
I wanted the suit to be absolutely perfect, both in style and comfort sense. I knew I wanted something traditional, off-white and sleek. Suits for women can be a hit or miss and so, I knew that it needed to be designed custom for me in order to look good!

What Was Your Favorite Memory From Your Wedding Day?
There are too many to name, but seeing everyone cheer and looks o happy while we were announced as a married couple for the first time is definitely something we will never forget.

What Is Your Wedding Style?
We went for a classic look and feel with a few modern touches.

What Is Your Best Style Advice to Grooms and Brides Looking For Wedding Suits?
Make sure you feel confident and attractive in whatever you decide to wear. If you don't feel comfortable in your suit or even shoes, that will show in your wedding pictures. Go through ever detail possible during the design process and then let your confidence take center stage when you put on your custom suit on your wedding day.

Does your partner want to compliment your gown but with a suit? Interested in getting that special tailored look you can't find off the racks or a suit that fits right for a special occasion? Contact a style consultant at info@9tailors.com.

Congratulations to Our Beautiful Bride Clients, Dana & Alexis!

Women wearing menswear inspired fashion has always been a trend, it comes and goes every year, highlighting different aspects. Some designers focus on an over-sized blazer, others like the look classic look of a white button down with tailored pants, other designers don't even consider the suits and just go for the military inspired pea coats. For this blog post, we are showing you how two of our beautiful brides went for menswear attire for their nuptials instead of just one of them wearing a suit and the other wearing a dress.

Meet our Beautiful Brides, Dana Lyford & Alexis Schuette

Name: Dana Lyford

Age: 27

Wedding Date: October 5, 2013

Current Residence: Newton, MA

Occupation: Non-Profit Operations

How Long Have You Been a 9tailors Client? 8 Months

Why Choose Custom?
Alexis and I chose to go the custom route after realizing how difficult it was to find affordable formal wear for women who don't necessarily fit into typical gender norms. The menswear you can find in stores wouldn't quite fit our feminine shapes, so we decided custom was the way to go. We had read good things about 9tailors and loved that the office was full of women who would understand that our bodies weren't shaped like men!

What Was Your Favorite Memory From Your Wedding Day?
My favorite memory from our wedding day has to be that amazing feeling when you first get intorduced as a married couple and walk into the reception to every person that you love cheering for you. That feeling was so intoxicating, I think it will always be my favorite memory!

Describe Your Wedding Style
I feel like this is a little tough to explain because our wedding was very non-traditional and didn't really have a very intentional style. However, it was just at the beginning of Fall and we decided to really let the season be our theme. So, everything was very Autumnal and outdoorsy.

Our loving brides in their custom wedding suits. Each suit tailored to their specific curves and needs to make them look their best and just the way they envisioned on their Autumn wedding day.

What's Your Best Style Advice to "Grooms"?
Ha, well I'll take give my best advice to fellow gay ladies who are considering a custom suit! Don't hesitate to go the custom route, it's worth every dollar to be 100% comfortable on your wedding day. Don't worry about what a traditional suit looks like and try to make yourself look the way you think you should. Look the way you want and just be yourself! And when it's all said and done, get yourself some sexy shoes to compliment your suit!

It was such an exciting process to work with these two beautiful ladies. We love it when women come in looking for a menswear style suit and are able to add their feminine charm to it! If you want to know how to make a custom men's suit into a woman's menswear-inspired garment, contact a style consultant at info@9tailors.com. We love our bride-groom couples!

Congratulations to Phil and Matt - Dashing grooms in tweed

We love weddings, large and small. We had the chance to work with a very lovely couple, Phil and Matt several months ago on their intimate wedding in Boston.

Both work in creative industries, so they wanted their wedding attire to be unique, yet classic. When they decided upon two complementary gray tweed blazers with matching contrasts, we were beyond thrilled! When the blazers arrived in the studio and we had posted it online, it set our Facebook feed a blaze with rave reviews!

Some thoughts from Phil....

Name: Phil

Occupation: Regional Manager

Why did you choose custom? When selecting wardrobe pieces nothing is more luxe than custom made pieces. You and the tailor drive fit, fashion and fabrication, it is the ultimate luxury experience.

What's your best style advice? Less is more, classic is best, don't over think it. A trend is one step away from a fashion don't.

What or who inspires your style? You may laugh but... who was better dressed than Ricky Ricardo. He had amazing style, incredibly masculine yet very classic.

Congratulations again to Matt and Phil!

Thinking warm weather thoughts...

We were so thrilled when we received these photos from the talented ladies at Studio Nouveau. With the blustery nor'easter and frigid temps, it was very sweet of them to take us back to summer through their images of David and Julie.

Several months ago, we had the pleasure of working with David and Julie on their Cape wedding. What a fantastic couple to work with! They were so excited for their low-key, casual affair. And, we couldn't be happier that they wanted to work with us.

Having broad shoulders and athletic build, David was most concerned about the cut. In his words, he wanted a "better fit" for his suit. He was looking for a suit that was tailored, yet comfortable enough for him to move around in at the wedding.

David was also interested in finding the right material. Because their wedding took place on the beach in August, heat was a factor. We chose a beautiful, light-weight wool that breathed well. David also wanted the suits to reflect his fun personality. As David says, custom "allowed me to put a personal touch on the suit." While David monogrammed his suit with his wedding date, the two groomsmen personalized each of their suit jackets with the phrases, "I need it for hockey" and "You all right?".

David's best advice? "Don't cut corners and buy lower quality clothes."

We couldn't agree more.

Thank you Studio Nouveau for the gorgeous images. Special thanks to David and Julie for sharing your special day with us! Congratulations again!

Meet Brandon: Our Dashing Groom in Midnight Blue

Meet Brandon. Brandon recently got married earlier this year and we wanted to share his beautiful photos with you!

Name: Brandon
Age: 30
Hometown: Stoughton, MA
Current Residence: Boston, MA
Occupation: Financial Analyst

Why choose custom?
The fit is unmatched. If you are fairly thin with broad shoulders then finding clothes at a department store that fits is nearly impossible. Even those that claim to be "slim fit" still look boxy. Going custom means the suit or shirt is made to measurement to fit your body. The icing on the cake is the customization. There are so nearly unlimited fabrics, colors and details that you can personalize to your own taste and make your item truly unique.

What would be your style advice to men in your professional field?

Proper fitting shirts and suits can change your whole appearance. People take notice when someone puts the time and thought into presenting themselves well. The whole point of formal and even business casual attire is to look professional. If you are wearing clothes that doesn't fit you properly then you really don't project the professional image that was intended whether to outside clients or colleagues.

What/who inspires your style? Why?

For my wedding, the inspiration to my custom tuxedo was certainly James Bond. Specifically, Daniel Craig in Skyfall wore a midnight blue tuxedo that I borrowed from heavily. I wanted a formal formal look without appearing too stuffy and 9tailors nailed it!

What is your favorite piece from 9tailors?

The midnight blue tuxedo is phenomenal. I had a vision in my head and it came out even better than I could have imagined. For everyday use though, I have a gray herringbone tweed sport coat that is my go to jacket in the fall. The fit is great and there is lavender accenting under the lapel.

How difficult is it to find garments that targets your specific needs and style?

Very. The reality is everyone's body is different so trying to find something fits your personal style AND fits your body is nearly impossible. Truly like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

Meet Linda and Ayo!

How was the weather? Was your wedding indoors/outdoors?
"We were married in Danvers, MA, on June 2nd, 2013. It was a HOT summer day and the wedding was outdoors."

Why did you decide to go with 9tailors on your own custom design?
"I was recommended to 9tailors by a co-worker."

Describe your 9tailors experience and items.
"It was great. Every one treated us very well and with respect, but Kim made the difference. She went above and beyond and I will do business with 9tailors in the future and probably would only work exclusively with Kim if I can. She was wonderful and it felt like a personal relationship rather than a business one."

What was the best part of your wedding day?
"The reception. It was such a great day, but celebrating with family and friends was very beautiful and touching. It was also gratifying to see all our hard work come to fruition."

What is your advice to other wedding couples thinking about designing custom suits or shirts?

"Go with 9tailors and plan ahead. You can never plan too early."

What is your favorite picture and why?
"I love them ALL!"

Meet Dorothy and Jill!

How was the weather? Was your wedding indoors/outdoors?
October 07,2012 at the Commander's Mansion in Watertown,MA. The weather turned out to be a little raw with some rain. The ceremony was inside and the reception was outside under a tent. Lucky for us, we opted for heaters because of the unpredictable New England weather.

Why did you decide to go with 9tailors on your own custom design?
I knew right away that I wanted to wear a suit. I don't particularly like how women's suits are cut and just forget about the amount of tailoring needed for a men's suit. So the best and obvious answer was to get a custom suit. I knew I could get exactly what I was looking for!

Describe your 9tailors experience and items.
My experience at 9tailors was very good. The first meeting was tons of fun being able to pick exactly what I wanted from many many different options. Alex was extremely helpful, especially when I had a hard time deciding. There was a hiccup in the middle with the jacket but it was quickly taken care of. In the end, I got an awesome 3-piece suit with fun details made just for me.

What was the best part of your wedding day?
Hands down the best part of the wedding day was seeing Jill for the first time. She wouldn't let me see her dress or her hairstyle, so I just couldn't wait to see her. Seeing her turn the corner was one of the most amazing moments and feelings I've had. Truly unforgettable.

What is your advice to other wedding couples thinking about designing custom suits or shirts?
When it comes to your wedding day people usually get a little pickier with what they want. 9tailors is able to give you exactly what you want, which definitely helps alleviate a lot of stress that comes with planning the big day.

What is your favorite picture and why?
The picture of Jill and I coming into the reception is my favorite because it's the happiest and proudest I've felt.  I think it also symbolizes the ending to a beautiful ceremony and the beginning a crazy fun party!  The smile on my face in this picture was there well after the lights went out.  Simply amazing!

Meet Stuart and Kate!

What are your names?
Stuart Terrett and Kate Gasaway

When and where was the big day?
14 April 2013, Savannah, GA

How was the weather?
Overcast; 60s; held indoors

Why did you decide to go with 9tailors on your own custom design?
I wanted something that would actually fit, and I wanted something that is harder to find off the shelf. Knowing that picking something and having it altered would be as much work as simply having it made, and being able to get a matching jacket and have a suit afterwards tipped the equation.

Describe your 9tailors experience and items.
It was great - I spent 45 minutes picking out fabrics and getting measured. Then I was done! Kate spent 8 hours trudging from bridal shop to bridal shop trying on dresses with clips holding them together. I definitely had the better deal.

What was the best part of your wedding day?
The best part of the wedding weekend was before the wedding day when I got to hang out with the members of the wedding party. They're what made the whole experience fun.

What is your advice to other wedding couples thinking about designing custom suits or shirts?
Do it. It's easy, they'll fit perfectly, and the math is pretty simple - getting something off the rack and having it altered is just as expensive and won't be as good.

Choose your favorite photo and tell us why.
Probably the one of me picking her up. It was fun.
