We were so thrilled when we received these photos from the talented ladies at Studio Nouveau. With the blustery nor'easter and frigid temps, it was very sweet of them to take us back to summer through their images of David and Julie.
Several months ago, we had the pleasure of working with David and Julie on their Cape wedding. What a fantastic couple to work with! They were so excited for their low-key, casual affair. And, we couldn't be happier that they wanted to work with us.
Having broad shoulders and athletic build, David was most concerned about the cut. In his words, he wanted a "better fit" for his suit. He was looking for a suit that was tailored, yet comfortable enough for him to move around in at the wedding.
David was also interested in finding the right material. Because their wedding took place on the beach in August, heat was a factor. We chose a beautiful, light-weight wool that breathed well. David also wanted the suits to reflect his fun personality. As David says, custom "allowed me to put a personal touch on the suit." While David monogrammed his suit with his wedding date, the two groomsmen personalized each of their suit jackets with the phrases, "I need it for hockey" and "You all right?".
David's best advice? "Don't cut corners and buy lower quality clothes."

Meet Graham, an easygoing fella with a knack for old school classic menswear. While brainstorming his 9tailors garments, the Bad Rabbits bassist knew exactly the look he wanted to achieve. We decided to do a double breasted jacket in a brown herringbone to channel a timeless look with mass appeal. Once we decided on the brown fabric, the rest was history. "I normally look to other musicians past and present for style points. I think musicians have their own unique way of dressing that if done right really compliments their music and creates an iconic look that defines them and people recognize them by. Some of my style icons in music are Donny Hathaway, Pharrell Williams, Curtis Mayfield, Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Mos Def.
What is your favorite piece from 9tailors?
The double breasted jacket they made for our performance on Jimmy Kimmel. I had never worn a double breasted jacket before, but 9tailors totally sold me on them. It's a classic look and they nailed it with the pinstripes and cut. It was exactly what I had envisioned.
What would be your style advice to other men in your professional field?
"Find a look that suits you and go with it. Try and hone in on it and pick garments that really fit your own personal "brand" rather than going for many different styles."

As some of you may know, we recently worked with the Boston-bred band, Bad Rabbits, designing some signature suits and shirts for one of our biggest photo shoots yet (practice a little patience—we'll roll out the photos in our Fall/Winter 2013 look book, we promise).
What you might not know is that BR just released their newest album, American Love, brimming with infectious tracks that epitomize the definition of "summer jams". While us longtime fans, as well as other Boston music writers can attest, this new LP is chock full of soul-infused, rhythmic, and downright funky tunes that are so catchy, we dare you not to bop your head. With beats inspired by a multitude of genres like soul, funk, R&B, rock, among other influences, it's damn sure refreshing to the music lover's ear.
This past April, Bad Rabbits kicked off Spring with a national tour opening for the lyric-spitting Kendrick Lamar and table-turning Steve Aoki. Just a few weeks ago, they opened up Beantown's first official festival Boston Calling. Oh, and did we mention they rocked both the late night shows of Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Ferguson in May? Yeah, that's right...and they killed it.

Meet one of our stylish clients, Micah Whitson. He's the proprietor and designer of a fantastic print shop, Old Try that specializes in southern themes and motifs here in Massachusetts. One of our favorite prints? One that exclaims, "Hotty Toddy Gosh Almighty!" He's also the one who designed our profile picture above.
Micah never ceases to amaze his us with his taste, classic with a modern and quirky twist. Micah is also trendsetter among his fellow colleagues. He started "Formal Fridays," where he'll wear a suit to work on Fridays (he hasn't missed a Friday since he started it several years ago). In a world where casual Fridays rule, we love that he is setting himself apart from the rest.

BIG NEWS- Did you know that 9tailors is launching a suiting line in September? If you're already a 9tailors client, you are eligible to be a "suit tester" during our current preliminary phase. Mary Lou Andre is a corporate wardrobe, dress, and image consultant, as well as an author and speaker. She provides private client services and also runs a very helpful website, aptly called Dressing Well. We wanted to share with you something that was in her June newsletter- called "Five Quick Tips for Men." Just in time for Father's Day!
1. Have one dark, neutral suit that fits you well on hand at all times.
2. Play with sport coats- they can up your style in an instant. Check for interesting weaves and buttons.
3. Get measured- nothing ruins an outfit more easily than something that doesn't fit properly. Get measured today at 9tailors- you'll never again have "make do" with something that doesn't fit well.
4. Wear more than white- there are tons of office-appropriate styles out there that aren't white (blue, lavender, or yellow, for example). Find some unique fabrics at 9tailors that perfectly suit your style.
