Get 'em While They're Hot...

This just in! We are offering our limited edition shirting fabrics at 25% off! We've somehow procured enough fabric to make 3 or 4 shirts each. This means that you probably won't run into another guy wearing the same exact shirt as you...unlike all of these guys who are apparently wearing the same J Crew gingham shirt.

The fabrics are buttery smooth, two-ply, 120 thread count shirting material. Normally, these luxury fabrics are $159.00 per shirt, but now they're available to you for $119.25 for a limited time through the end of October.

Contact us at info@9tailors.com to schedule an appointment.

*Rules & Restrictions:
  • Additional customization options are full price
  • Applies for limited edition fabrics only
  • May not be combined with other discounts or promotions
  • Discount may not be applied to past purchases
  • Expires October 31st, 2014

Meet Dan: "Clothing should convey an understated confidence."

Meet Dan Romero, a stylish 9tailors client who waved goodbye to off-the-rack shopping long ago. As a young professional in a fairly conservative field, this handsome lad always comes to our studio brimming with design ideas that exceed trend-setting. He often creates classic yet modern garments that match his effortless look and cordial demeanor, as seen above in a 9tailors sports coat and shirt.

Name:
Dan Romero

Age:
25

Hometown:
Mansfield, MA

Current Residence:
South Boston, MA

Occupation:
Consultant

How long have you been a 9tailors client?
A year and a half

Why choose custom?
I'm a fairly lean guy, but with broader shoulders, so most off-the-rack shirts don't fit well. Regular cut shirts result in the dreaded "muffin top", whereas slim fit end up too tight up top. Same goes for jackets. I purchased my first custom shirt and jacket from 9tailors last fall and have been hooked ever since.

What inspires your style? Why?

I'm a big fan of "all-American style"—the right blend of classy, casual and rugged. Think JFK, Paul Newman and Steve McQueen.

In terms of elegance in dressing, Luciano Barbera has it figured out. Not only does he make some of the nicest fabrics in the world, but he's probably the world's most elegant dresser. If you were to sum up my thinking on clothing in a quote, it would be this one from him: “True elegance has just one rule: simplicity.”

What is your favorite piece from 9tailors?

My midnight blue, gold-button blazer. It's darker than your run-of-the-mill navy blue version and it has a contrast white polka dot lining and double vent in the back. I wear it almost every day—and get complimented almost as often.

What would be your style advice to other men in your professional field?

Clothing should convey an understated confidence, so do the basics well: dark colors for jackets and pants; solid blues and whites for shirts; a great pair of (usually brown) shoes. Then, add some subtle personal touches: cuff links; contrasting lining; interesting socks.

Quite eloquently said!

Studio Updates: August

Just wanted to write up a quick reminder about all the events and activities going on at 9tailors!

First, we still have a khaki promotion going on until the end of the month. Get yourself out of that droopy, sagging, pair of parachute pants and into a finely tailored pair. You should be showing off your assets in every pair of pants you wear.

Second, if summer has officially drained your bank account we have a solution for that too. The eagerly anticipated sample sale is here! Making killer threads available to everyone regardless of the size of their bank account has always been a goal of 9tailors. This sample sale is just another way we wanted to remind you we care.

Go ahead and shoot me an email at kathryn@9tailors.com to set up your sample sale appointments today! Hurry, we're running out of time.

Because Maxim said so...

About a month ago, I started receiving Maxim Magazine in my mailbox. I was a little surprised since I did not actually purchase a subscription (neither had Awei). Nevertheless, I have been entertaining myself with the photos and humorous reads on gadgets, games, girls and guy's version of celeb gossip (for instance, the latest on Jessica Alba and the internet rumor about about a possible appearance of Kimbo Slice on UFC).

It appears (as featured on page 102 of the July issue) that bespoke has entered mainstream. In the article, How to Buy - bespoke everything, Maxim writes, "While a made-from scratch shirt ain't cheap ($120 to $600), it's worth it. 'You'll have exact fit and no excess fabric at the waist,' says Quinn (Duncun Quinn of Duncun Quinn haberdashery).'" Ahh, yes. Wise words.
